How To Be Healthy – My Top Tips (Part 1)

A Holistic Allergy Specialists Guide On How To Be HealthyWhen I tell people I want to live to over 100 years of age, I am amazed at the response. So many say that they don't want to live that long because they don't want to have all of the health problems associated with being 'old'.

But what if you could be 'old' without all of those health problems? If we start changing our lifestyle now this is definitely a possibility. It is never to late to start.

Today I would like to share with you my top tips for being healthy and well so that you can live the long and amazing life that you and your family deserve you to live!

Here goes:

1)  Clear your allergies – Whilst we are reacting to what we ingest or reacting to things that we come into contact with on a daily basis, we are setting ourselves up for a life of unwanted symptoms, illness and disease. Clearing our allergies alone can have a huge positive impact on our health and well being. It is important to test (I prefer to muscle test) and clear everything we put into our bodies, even so called healthy foods and supplements that are on this list . Remember you can be reactive to anything and the allergy might not show up as symptoms you would usually associate with a typical allergy. 2)  Eat as much raw food as you can – The closer food is to source the better it is for you, as long as you are not allergic to it. Try adding a salad to your meal, munch on raw veggies through the day. My kids love raw whole carrots, cucumber, tomatoes and peppers as snacks.

3)  Optimize your vitamin D levels – You can be muscle tested to find out how much vitamin D you personally need to take. Your actual levels should generally be between 50 and 70 ng/ml. You can either muscle test to find out what your level is or have a blood test. You will need more in the winter months when there is less sun.

4)  Correct the ratio of omega-3 to healthful omega-6 fats – Increasing your intake of animal based omega-3  fats, whist decreasing your intake of damaged omega-6 fats is a big factor in helping people live longer. 

5)  Stock up on antioxidants from foods – Some good sources are: blueberries, cranberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries, beans, and artichokes. Remember to muscle test and clear first if needed. Lots of people have fruit allergies!

6)  Use coconut oil – This is a brilliant anti-aging food!  It has been shown to reduce your risk of heart disease and Alzheimer's disease, and lower your cholesterol.

7)  Avoid as many chemicals, toxins, and pollutants as possible – It's time to throw away those toxic household cleaners, soaps, personal hygiene products, air fresheners, insect sprays, lawn pesticides, and insecticides and replace them with non-toxic alternatives. A build up of toxins is one of the causes of allergies. Remember though that we can still be allergic to ingredients in 'Green' non toxic products so again, test and clear.

Even if you just implement one of these tips today, it is a great start! For me the most important thing you can do is start clearing your allergies.
